Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Superintendent is responsible to lead, manage and work with all ADC field employees and trades assigned to the project on a daily basis, and ensure that work is performed efficiently and to the highest quality standard.
Accountability
- Report to the assigned Superintendent or Construction Project Manager.
- Communicate all project related issues and concerns to the Superintendent or Construction Project Manager immediately and assist in developing and securing a plan of action.
- Maintain written and photo documentation of work done and work supervised, as appropriate.
- Tenaciously comply with all ADC policies and procedures and all HIOSH, OSHA, HOA, and municipal regulations.
Construction
- Participate in on-site project activities as needed.
- Guide, facilitate and direct onsite field employees, Trade Contractors, and suppliers. Assist Trade Contractors with tasks, when necessary.
- Strive for no-defect construction.
- Keep all projects under construction meticulously neat, clean, organized, and free from rubbish at all times.
- Provide Superintendent with scheduling information and conflicts, critical path, and any other information necessary for creating the Schedule prior to and throughout the course of the project.
- Regularly update all project Trades and suppliers for the project of the current Schedule in a consistent and timely manner.
- On a daily basis oversee all workers on-site to ensure that work is performed efficiently and to the highest quality standard by ADC crews and Trades.
- Consistently monitor jobsite for safe tools and working practices and notify trade partners of any deficiencies.
- Provide coordination and promote team spirit with the intent of meeting or bettering the Schedule and budgetary goals of the Company.
- Arrange for all appropriate tools and equipment needed in order to work safely and efficiently on ADC projects.
- Ensure that construction is in compliance with ADC quality standards on a daily basis.
- Coordinate with Superintendent and Trades on the project to ensure an efficient and cooperative jobsite.
